Scheduled lessons for 1x a week
1. For every 1 scheduled session a week, a 6 lesson advance fee will be charged before the 1st lesson.
2. Please pay the lesson Fees before the start of the first lesson.
3. A time frame of 8 weeks (56 days) will be given to complete all 6 lessons
4. They will not be refundable or usable if there are any unused lessons after 8 weeks(56 days).
I am putting this time frame on classes to ensure the consistency of the lessons and to avoid bad cancellation behaviors. I will do my best to schedule make-up lessons, if necessary or possible, but not guaranteed, as stated below in the make-up section. Everything will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Note: the 2 extra weeks(2 sessions) for lessons are for postponement & cancellations.
What is an unavoidable postponement of lesson?
Unavoidable postponement: There are 3 type
1. Extremely Bad Weather ( outdoor pool only ): We can schedule a make-up lesson within the 8 weeks payment timeframe, time slots will open when there is a cancellation or postponement From other lessons.
- Please voice out regarding the best possible days for make-up other than the day of the scheduled lesson(s), and I will keep that in mind, do note that I cannot promise a make-up lesson due to my schedule. Hence we have the 2 extra weeks and 2 extra days for make-up lessons.
- I will review the weather within the 1 hour before the lesson and keep updated on the possibility of the lesson taking place. Singapore’s weather is ever-changing, so please trust my judgment. I put the student’s safety as a priority, and I am also doing my best to ensure consistency.
- A request for cancellation of a session due to personal judgment/prediction of weather before 1 hour will be considered Personal cancellation and the session will be charged. Review the Personal cancellation section below.
- If the rain stops or lessens during the scheduled time for lessons and the student would like to continue, I am more than happy to conduct lessons.
- If a planned make-up lesson (not next week of the scheduled day for lessons) is also affected by weather, then the lesson will be put as Unavoidable cancellation. Hence there will be no make-up lesson, and it will be charged as 1 lesson.
2. Pre-scheduled Important Occasions: The earlier I am notified, the more possibilities I can offer for make-up lessons.
- Please inform me as early as possible, especially pre-planned occasions like weddings or vacations, etc.
- For the situation to be considered Postponement, I need to be informed at
least 1 days(24 hours) before the day of the scheduled lesson, and the lesson will be eligible for a make-up lesson, when possible, later during the date within the time frame or before the scheduled lesson, depending on my schedule, if there are any cancellations or postponement of other students, no guarantees of make-up lessons, hence we have the 2 weeks extra.
- Any cancellations made within 1 days(24hours) of lessons is considered a personal cancellation and the lesson will not be eligible for a make-up lesson. Although the lesson will not be charged, we will proceed with the lesson the following week.
- Any cancellations, regardless of the reason that is being informed within 12 hours prior to the scheduled lesson or on the day of the lesson starting at 6 am, are considered last-minute cancellations, and a 1 lesson fee will be charged.
3. Unavoidable sickness: I understand that everyone gets sick and, more often, kids. If there is a need for cancellation, do tell me honestly and as soon as possible, and I can put the idea in mind for make-up lessons when the swimmer is recovered.
- I will appreciate seeing the MC/Doctor’s note as proof of the reason for a last minute cancellation if serious enough.
- Another option for make-up for unavoidable sickness is the next week of scheduled lessons.
- In the event of the need to cancel for an extended duration of more than 2 weeks, we can review the situation and take the best course of action case by case. If there is a request to maintain the time slot post 2 weeks, a 50% fee will be charged for every lesson. Please refer to the reserving time slot section below.
- Note: The parent’s judgment of sickness will count as personal cancellations, especially if cancellations are made on the day of the lesson and the swimmer did not see the doctors before or after the scheduled lesson. Review the personal cancelation section below
- Any cancellations within 1 days(24 hours prior to the lesson) will not be
eligible for a make-up lesson and the next lesson will take place the next week. But it will not be counted towards a 1 lesson charge.
- Any cancellations, regardless of reason, 12 hours prior to the scheduled lesson or on the day of the lesson starting at 6 am, are considered last-minute cancellations, and a 1 lesson fee of 1-1 as previously agreed, will be charged.
Note:
- Please inform the coach at least 1 week in advance to postpone scheduled lessons for personal important occasions.
- Unavoidable postponements are situations in which I can try to schedule a make-up lesson other than our scheduled days for lessons. Due to my schedule, please understand that scheduling make-up lessons can sometimes be difficult, and sometimes I can only do half lessons. I will always try my best to do a full make-up lesson.
We can schedule make-up lessons within the 8 weeks payment time frame for any unavoidable postponement situations.
Personal cancellations will not have a make-up lesson!
Personal/last-minute cancellations include:
1. Parent’s/Swimmer’s personal judgment of bad weather/cold waters will count as personal cancellations. I will do my best to assess the situation with safety in mind. I will usually continue with lessons as long as it is safe.
2. Sickness that happened on the day of the scheduled lesson. (12 hours prior to the lesson)
3. Personal plans or pre-planned occasions that I was not informed of until the day of the lesson.
4. If a planned make-up lesson (not next week of the scheduled day for lessons) is also affected by weather, then the lesson will have no make-up lesson, and it will be considered 1 lesson.
5. Any cancellations made within 12 hours prior to the lesson or on the day of the scheduled lesson will not be eligible for make-up lessons, and a 1 lesson fee will be charged.
Note:
The reason for me doing this is because I hope swimmers are consistent with
their lessons and learning and also be mindful and enable possibilities for other student’s make up-lessons. If that day’s weather is unwell, I will use my professional judgment to evaluate the feasibility of the lesson. The student’s safety will be my top priority, and I hope for everyone’s trust and support.
Reserving time slot:
1. If the swimmer is going on a holiday, is injured, or has any personal commitments that require the swimmer to be away, 2 weeks' leeway on the time frame will be given, reserving the slot.
2. For anything after 2 weeks, a 50% fee can be spent per lesson to reserve the time slot. I will do my best in this event to keep the time slot, but I cannot guarantee anything past 2 weeks that changes will not be made to my schedule.
Public holiday: No Coaching unless the coach says so
1. Due to my tight schedule of 7 working days, I hope for everyone’s understanding that I do not work on Public Holidays, as it is my rare time to rest or spend time with my family.
2. If I am willing to open the time slot, priority for time slots during that day will be given to my scheduled lessons on that day, then only for make-up lessons.
Coach being sick/unavailable:
1. In the unfortunate event that I am sick, I shall inform you as honestly as possible as soon as I decide if I need to cancel, etc. I hope for everyone’s understanding as I will only cancel if I need to for the safety of the students. Sometimes it may be on the day of the scheduled lesson. I hope for everyone’s understanding.
2. Same thing applies if I have urgent matters to attend to that requires me to be unavailable and unable to teach hence affecting our lessons.
3. However long I need to recover/be away is however long I will add to the time frame of the payment term. E.g. 7 weeks + 2 weeks
4. I am the Head coach of the club and sometimes I have competitions or unscheduled meetings that I cannot reschedule and will inform you in advance E.g. 7 weeks + 2 weeks
Payment:
1. Cash before the first lesson of the payment term unless it is the first paid trial lesson. A good rule of thumb for cash transactions, payments are to be paid on the last lesson to book the next “Sessions Package”.
