Freestyle pull hold the pool side

Freestyle pull is a swimming drill where you hold onto the pool side with one hand while performing freestyle stroke with the other hand. It’s a great drill for focusing on arm technique, body rotation, and breath control.

To perform this drill:

Stand in chest-deep water next to the pool side.

Hold onto the pool side with one hand, keeping your body in a straight line.

Extend your other arm forward and enter the water with your fingertips, initiating the freestyle stroke.

Pull through the water with that arm, maintaining proper technique (high elbow position, strong pull).

As your pulling arm exits the water at your hip, begin to rotate your body to the opposite side for the next stroke.

While holding onto the pool side, breathe as needed by turning your head to the side during the stroke.

Focus on maintaining a steady rhythm and smooth stroke technique.

Repeat the drill for a desired number of repetitions or time, then switch sides and repeat with the other arm.

Remember to engage your core muscles to maintain stability while holding onto the pool side, and focus on the key aspects of freestyle stroke technique such as proper arm position, body rotation, and breathing.
