Progression Floating Star Version 2
The main idea of the drill “Floating star” with board is to improve buoyancy and control of the body. A good drill to use for the freestyle or backstroke when you need to feel the cross muscles and engage them. The proper understanding of body position help to float better.
Note
For children 2-4 years old, use the shallow pool. The drill can be performed on the chest and on the back
Basic Level
1. You will need two board
2. You lie down on the chest and put one board under the left arm and the second board under the right leg, extend the legs and arms parallel to the surface of the water
3. You take a breath, put your head under the water and hold your breath for 10-15 seconds while straighten your body in one line with the surface of the water
4. The number of repetition of the exercises will depend on the tasks of the coach
Intermediate Level
1. You will need one board
2. You lie down on the chest and put one board under the one arm or under the leg, extend the legs and arms parallel to the surface of the water
3. You take a breath, put your head under the water and hold your breath for 10-15 seconds while straighten your body in one line with the surface of the water

1. No board is needed
2. You lie down on the chest and extend your legs and arms parallel to the surface of the water
